We have many types of collection in our library, range from Fictions to Sciences. We also have some library materials which can only be used within the library such as Reference collection, Journals and Magazines, Newspapers, Thesis, Reserve collection such as Proceedings and Indonesian Bank (BI Corner) Collection.

Library Users

The following people reserve the right to be the members of the library. Members are entitled to use all library services.

• All registered students of the University

• Active Faculty and administrative staff in the University

• Known members of the community and those with a genuine need, have limited access to the library with a special permission from the head of the library.

Other users can only read the library materials and use the reading room in the library.

 

Loan Periods

1. All registered students, active faculty and administrative staff have borrowing privileges in the library. Other people may use the library but do not have borrowing privileges.

2. The length of time that books may be borrowed is as follows:

• Students : 3 books for one week; renewable three times

• Faculty staff : 15 books for 120 days (for teaching)

• Other staff : 10 books for one week; renewable three times

 

Damage/Loss of Library Materials

1. All users will be held responsible for any damage or loss of library materials they are borrowing. Marking of library materials will be regarded as damaged. Users will be required to repair (if it still can be repaired) or replace the loss/badly damaged library material with the most current edition of the same title.

2. Users must ensure that the books they borrow are in good condition to avoid being held responsible for any damages noted while returning the books.

3. Any damage or loss of library materials must be reported to the librarian immediately.

 

Overdue Charges/Fines

  • General book collection    IDR10,000/book for the first day, and cumulatively IDR3,000/book/day for second day and so on.
  • Book Damaged/loss         Same or similar titles (edition)
  • These rules and regulations are subject to be reviewed by the library from time to time.

 

General Rules

1. Respects to other users are highly appreciated, such as:

• Keeping to a minimum volume of voices while talking or taking part in a group discussion;

• Sleeping, smoking, using cellphones, radio, joking, playing online games outside the library

• Proper use of the library furniture

• Proper attired at all times in the library

2. Keeping the library and the collection clean and in good condition by :

• Eeating and drinking outside the library;

• Putting trash on the trash cans;

• Proper handling of walls, furniture and library materials (no marking, ripping off, breaking) etc.

3. Keeping the library in good order by :

• Using the library mainly for academic and research purposes

• Putting the books on the trolly provided, after reading or removing from the Shelves

• Leaving the furniture in its original place

4. Not leaving belongings overnight in the library. The library shall not take any responsibility for loss of personal property or books already issued out.

5. Report to the library immediately if you find other’s belongings or if you lose your belongings

6. The library staff has the privelege to ask students to leave the library if they are behaving inappropriately or causing disturbance to other users

7. The library has the privelege to give any kind of discipline acts to any user who disregards the library rules and regulations

 

Borrowing Procedures

1. A user must be a registered student or active faculty and administrative staff in the current term to be able to use the library services.

2. All users must present their library ID before borrowing any library materials.

3. Library materials may not be removed from the library unless the library staff has properly issued them out.

4. All borrowed materials must be returned on or before the due date.

5. Students or staff are not allowed to borrow library materials on behalf of others or transfer borrowed materials to others.

6. Students with overdue materials and overdue fines will not be allowed to borrow books.

 

  1. How to register as a library member

    • Entering the library
      •  Go to the circulation desk  to register
    • Circulation desk
      • Tell the library staff that you want to register
      •  Fill the Membership Registration Form  (Registration  Form FO-WI-PU-LIB-001/01)  provided by the librarian

 

  •  Email your latest formal photo (4x6 cm) to circulation@president.ac.id
  • Go to the circulation desk 2 days after sending photos to get the Membership Card
  • Ask for your Library Membership  Card from the librarian
  • Please keep your Library Membership Card carefully. If you lose your Library Membership Card, you should report to the Circulation Desk as soon as possible. Otherwise the card will be used by other people. You also have to pay your penalty if you ask for a new card.

 

How to borrow the locker

  • Entering the library
    • Go to the circulation desk to borrow a locker key
  • Circulation desk
    • Tell the library staff that you want to use the locker
    • Give your identity card  (KTM or Library membership card) in exchange for a locker key
    • You are not allowed to borrow the locker key on behalf of others or use other people’s ID card to borrow the locker key
  • Library locker
    • go to the library locker
    • Put your bag and other stuff in the library locker except wallet, hand phone and laptop. The library shall not take any responsibility for loss of personal property.
    • The locker can only be used while visiting the library, not leaving your belongings overnight in the library
  • Circulation desk
    • Upon leaving the library, take your bag and other stuff out of the locker
    • return your locker key in exchange for your identity card.
    • If you lose your locker key, you have to report to the Circulation Desk and pay a penalty for losing your locker key.
  • Overnight
    • The library staff will take out your stuff out of your locker if you put your bag/stuff overnight. The library shall not take any responsibility for loss of your belongings.

 

How to use Opac and find a book on the shelves

  • Entering the library
    • Go to OPAC ( Online Public Access Catalog)  if you want to search for any book in the library
  • OPAC
    • Open the link : https://library.president.ac.id:8084
    • choose Simple Search box,   if you want to find a book but you don’t know the title or author.  Type the key word on the box provided.
    • Click  advanced search link (below the simple search box), if you know the title, author subject, ISBN/ISSN collection type
    • On the space provided, type the keyword(s) or any combination of them to get more precise findings. There will be a display of book(s) containing the keywords you have entered
    •  Choose the book  you are looking for
    • Click the record detail of the book to look at the description including the availability of the book.
    • If the book is available, note down the call number to find the book on the shelves.
    • Go to the shelves to find the books
  • Shelves
    • Follow through the Call number from left to right and up to bottom.
    • The books on the shelves are arranged based on call number of the book.
    • The call number consists of 3 elements. Classification, 3 first character of the family name of the author; the first character of the title, disregarding  any article (the, a  or an) .
    • The classification is using a Dewey Decimal Classification system as displayed on the poster next to OPAC (you can ask the Reference Librarian  if you are not familiar with the OPAC or arrangement) .
    • If you cannot find the book,  go to Circulation desk  or Reference Librarian for help
  • Circulation desk
    • Ask the assistance of the library staff to locate the book
    • The library staff might ask you to write your data and the book needed on the Misplaced/Lost Books Form
    • The library staff will contact you on any information regarding the book

 

  1. How to borrow  library books

    • Entering the library
  • Go to OPAC to find the book you need or go directly to the shelves if you have already known the location of the book
  • The library materials that can only be used within the library are: Reference collection, Journals and magazines, Newspapers, thesis, reserve collection ( proceedings)
  • When you find the book , take the book to the Circulation Desk

  • The library staff will record your borrowing. Students with overdue materials and overdue fines will not be allowed to borrow any book until they are settled
  • Take the book  you have borrowed with you
  • All borrowed materials must be returned on or before due date otherwise you will be fined

 

  1. How to return  library books

    • Entering the library
      • take the book you want to return to the circulation desk
    • Circulation desk
  • present your library ID (Library Membership Card)  and the book(s) you would like to return.
  • The library staff will check whether the book(s) is/are overdue or not.
  • If the book(s) is/are overdue, go to  the procedure on How to pay the library fines
  • If the book(s) is/are not overdue, you are cleared from your borrowings
  • Any damage or loss of library materials must be reported to the librarian immediately
  • You are required to repair or replace the loss/badly damaged library materials with the most current edition of the same title.

 

  1. How to extend your borrowing

    • Entering the library
      • take the book(s) you want to extend to the circulation desk
    • Circulation desk
  • present your library ID and the book(s) you would like to extend.
  • The library staff will check whether the book(s) is/are overdue or not. Students with overdue materials and overdue fines will not be allowed to extend any book until they are settled
  • The library staff will also check whether  you have reach the limit of your book extension ( you can only extend 3 times )
  • If the book(s) is/are overdue, go to  the procedure on How to pay the library fines
  • If the book(s) is/not overdue or you haven’t reached your limit on book extension,  the library staff will record your new borrowings.
  • Take the book  you have extended with you

 

  1. How to pay the library fines

    • Entering the library
      • Go to the circulation desk to return your book(s)
    • Circulation Desk
      • Return the book(s) to the circulation desk
  • the library staff will issue a penalty charge form  ( Book Fine Receipt Form ) if your book is overdue. 
  • your ID card (Library Membership Card) will be detained until you show the proof that you have paid the fine

  •  pay the fines through your  virtual account or transfer to BCA , under the name of Yayasan Pendidikan Universitas Presiden , Account No. 8730123567, Swift code :CENAIDJA  ( for faculty members, administration staff, foreign students)

  •    Show the receipt and penalty charge form to Finance Department to ask the signature proving that you have paid the fines.
  • Go to the library Circulation Desk

  • Show the penalty charge form to the library staff and ask for signature proving that you have settled the fines
  • The library staff will return your ID card and the form.

 

  1. How to use discussion room

    • Entering the library
      •  Go to circulation desk if you would like to reserve a discussion room
      • Any group of 4 people can register and reserve for a discussion room for 2 hours at maximum
      • Go to Circulation Desk to reserve the discussion room
    • Circulation Desk
      • Write your identity, purpose and time of reserving on Discussion Room Booking Form.
      • Submit  your student ID card in return for  the key of discussion room.
    • Discussion Room
      • Group discussions are only allowed in the discussion room and the noise must be kept to a minimum and should not disturb any other user in the library
      • The discussion room are expected to be used for academic , research, and university proposes only
    • Circulation Desk
      • Return the  discussion key to the circulation staf after finishing to use the discussion room
      • Taking back your ID card in return of the discussion key.

 

How to report or take back your lost stuff

  • At the library
    • Go to Circulation desk if you find other’s belongings or if you lose your Belongings
  • Circulation
  • Tell the library staff on the issue
  • Put the stuff you found on the lost and found box
  • Write the  Lost Stuff Form  accordingly ( loosing or finding stuff)
  • If you take back your stuff from the lost and found box, sign the  Lost Stuff Form

 

How to donate books for graduating students

  • Entering the library
    • After defense, as the students prepare for graduation, they come to the library

 

  • Circulation desk
    •  ask for 2 copies of Donation Form FQ-QP-PU-LIB-005/01
    • You have to look at the list of books needed by the related Study Program, provided in the library or at the Study Program
    • You also have to check the requirements of the books donation, written on the form above
    • Go to library Opac to check for availability
  • Library Opac
    • Check the availability of the books in the library using OPAC (Online Public Catalog) – http://library.president.ac.id:8084. If the library has already have 5 copies, you should skip the title.
  • anywhere
    • check the  prices and publishers of the books on the titles. You can share the donation with your friends (around  Rp. 200.000,- per person)
    •  write your data and the data of the books bought  on the Donation form (2 copies)
    • Go to your study program

 

  • Study Program
    • Give the 2 copies of the Donation Form together with the price of the book and the receipt of the purchase  to the Head of the Study Program  for approval
    • After the Donation has been signed, go to the library

 

  •  Circulation Desk
    •  Bring the 2 forms of Donation and ask for approval from the library.
    • The library staff will sign the 2 forms of Donation  on the Donation box, if  the donation conforms the requirements
    • The library will also check whether you still have overdue books or fines.

  If there are no overdue, the library will sign the box on book clearance. If you have overdue books you have to look at Procedures on How to Return library books and How to Pay the library fines

  • 1 copy of the Donation Form will be kept by the library together with the book(s) and 1 one copy should be given to the Study Program to signify that the students have cleared any obligation.
